Make it official!
Investiture in the Brown Scapular Confraternity
Deepen your bond with the Carmel Family by getting “invested” in the Scapular. Any priest can do it!
But remember, the Scapular isn’t “fire insurance,” no matter how many fancy words a priest says. (Official catechesis here.) The most important part of devoutly wearing the Carmelite “habit” is devoutly adopting at least one Carmelite habit.
Parish Investiture
If you’re in the Memphis area, contact us!
We can provide your priest with scapulars, informational brochures, and ceremony scripts. Community members appear in their ceremonial scapulars and can serve any number of roles.
If he includes a Mass, we can also provide our Carmelite Lectionary; Carmelite Sacramentary; and serve as Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, passable Cantors, or any other roles he requests.
On Your Own
Any priest may invest/enroll you in the scapular. He only need follow a simple investiture script. However, be sure to select at least one aspect of Carmelite Living and commit yourself to its practice.
